Road Trip, I~Sarasota & bird key, FL

I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea.

Mike and I have not done much since we landed in Florida. We decided yesterday to drive to Sarasota just to get out of the house. About 40 minutes after we left St. Petersburg, we were in downtown Sarasota. Two right turns and a left took us over a bridge onto Bird Key, a small barrier island between downtown and Lido and Longboat Keys. The key has a city park that has a beach, small pier, picnic tables, and benches, all enhanced by beautiful views.

The photos are pretty self-explanatory except for the first one of Barney, the swimming Golden who did not want to come out of the water. Sorry it is so pixelated, but he was way out, and I was using my iPhone.

Honey, I don’t think we’re in the desert anymore.
